The Carlisle Gift Shoppe and Lehman's Hardware

After Eli's we went drove back down Kidron road to Lehman's hardware. It was remodeled also and bigger and better than ever. It used to cater to the Amish but has become such a tourist attraction, the Amish are now about 10 percent of their sales. Then on to Berlin we ate at the East of Chicago Pizza, it was Tuesday evening and they had someone in a chicken suit dancing outside. We thought it was a normal night but we were surprised to find it was buffet night with all variety of pizza as well as salad bar, chicken wings and dummies, french fries, spaghetti and dessert pizza's. I don't normally care for dessert pizza and the peanut butter and jelly pizza was no exception. However, the chocolate and peanut butter was the best.
We headed back to Walnut Creek to catch the Carlisle Gift Shoppe before it closed. I love the sweeping Victorian staircase and it smells fabulous with its candle and potpourri scents wafting everywhere. Then out to call the horses in from the pasture for our nightly visit. They are larger than most buggy horses, they are used for buggy rides around Walnut Grove. The male is named Duke and he is half Standard bred and half Belgian. The darker horse is a mare and she is half Standard bred and half Percheron.
